Stellamaris is a geomatics engineer holding a bachelor’s degree (Hon) in Land Surveying and Geomatics from Makerere University. She is currently the Regional Ambassador of YouthMappers a USAID supported program that seeks to cultivate a generation of young leaders to create resilient
communities, by capitalizing on web-based open geospatial technologies, and a network of universities around the globe.
Stella holds a civic leadership fellowship award and has deliberately
worked to engage young students and professionals in space science application especially focused on projects & research around geospatial technology and earth observation for land and social economic development. She brings this wealth of knowledge to the junior outreach coordination to support and empower the young generation on national and internal space involvement and innovation around space science. Stella believes that Africa’s sovereignty lies in the ability to articulate space science as a panacea across social challenges.
